Official Giveaway Rules

TOCTalk's monthly giveaways ("Giveaways") are sponsored solely by TOCTalk ("Sponsor"), contactable at support@toctalk.app. Apple Inc. is not a sponsor of, and is not involved in, the Giveaways in any way.

Giveaways are open to TOCTalk members who are at least 18 years old and legal residents of the United States. Giveaways are void where prohibited or restricted by law.

Good standing. An account that is suspended, banned, or removed for violating the Terms of Service — either when the month ends or when the prize is claimed — is ineligible.

One account per person. Enter using a single account. Running more than one account, or coordinating accounts to move a score, is disqualifying.

TOCTalk personnel are not eligible. Members who hold an administrator or moderator role on TOCTalk cannot win a Giveaway, and neither can their immediate family or household members. Administrator and moderator accounts are automatically excluded from the "This Month" leaderboard, so they can never hold a winning rank. They still appear on the "All Time" leaderboard, which awards nothing. Family and household ineligibility is checked when a prize is claimed.

Platform accounts are not eligible. TOCTalk operates a number of demonstration accounts that post example content so a new community isn't an empty room. These are run by TOCTalk and are not real members. They may appear on the leaderboard, but they cannot win, and they are skipped when prizes are awarded. As real members join, ordinary activity outpaces them.

Each calendar month, TOCTalk may offer prizes for the top ranks on the "This Month" Top Contributors leaderboard. That month's prizes and qualifying ranks are shown in the app on the leaderboard. If no prizes are shown for a month, no Giveaway is held that month.

Participation is automatic and free: members earn reputation points through ordinary community activity in the app — posting, commenting, upvoting and downvoting (a vote earns a point once per post or comment), RSVPing to events, hosting events (a recurring series counts once), listing items in the Market (listings stop counting when they are sold out of the Market or auto-archive after 30 days), daily check-ins (including a weekly streak bonus on every 7th consecutive day), daily challenges, and inviting coworkers (invite points are capped each month). No purchase, payment, or fee affects points in any way. The "This Month" board counts only activity from that month, so a member with no activity that month does not appear on it.

Winners are the members holding the qualifying leaderboard ranks in the official month-end record, as verified by Sponsor. A month ends at 11:59:59 PM Eastern Time (ET) on its last day, and the standings are frozen shortly after the month closes; the frozen record — not the live board — determines winners. The app shows each month's exact closing time on your device's clock.

Winning depends on member activity — this is a skill-and-effort contest, not a game of chance. Points earned through manipulation, automation, vote trading, or abuse (as determined by Sponsor in good faith, including via moderation records) are disqualifying.

Prizes, quantities, and qualifying ranks vary by month and are described in the app. Prizes are not transferable, and no cash substitution is available except at Sponsor's sole discretion (including where a listed prize becomes unavailable, in which case a prize of equal or greater value may be substituted). Any taxes on a prize are the winner's sole responsibility. Reputation points themselves have no cash value.

Winners will be notified in the app and/or by the email on their account within seven (7) days of the month's end, and must respond to claim their prize within fourteen (14) days of notification. Before awarding a prize, Sponsor may ask a winner to confirm they meet the eligibility requirements in Section 2. If a winner does not respond in time, is ineligible, or declines, the prize may be awarded to the next qualifying rank or forfeited at Sponsor's discretion.

• Sponsor's determination of winners and eligibility is final.
• Sponsor may cancel, suspend, or modify a month's Giveaway if fraud, technical failure, or any other factor impairs its integrity, awarding prizes among eligible entries received before the change where required by law.
• By accepting a prize, the winner consents to the announcement of their username in the app in connection with the Giveaway.
• Release. By participating, you release TOCTalk and its owner, officers, employees, and agents from any and all liability, claims, injuries, losses, or damages arising out of participation in a Giveaway or the acceptance, possession, or use of any prize, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
• Apple Inc. and Google LLC are not sponsors of, and are in no way associated with, the Giveaways; your participation is with TOCTalk only, not with Apple or Google.
• These rules are governed by the Terms of Service, including its disclaimers, limitation of liability, and dispute-resolution provisions.

• Section 2 now states that TOCTalk administrators and moderators — and their immediate family and household members — cannot win. Staff accounts were already excluded from the "This Month" leaderboard in the app; the rules now say so.
• Section 2 spells out the one-account-per-person requirement and clarifies that suspended, banned, and removed accounts are ineligible.
• Section 2 discloses that TOCTalk runs demonstration accounts to seed the community with example content, and that those accounts cannot win.
• Section 3 lists hosting events and Market listings among the activities that earn points, notes that the monthly board only counts that month's activity, and explains what the UTC month end means on a U.S. clock.
• Section 3 no longer promises that prizes are posted before a month begins, and states that a month with no prizes shown has no Giveaway.
• Section 5 notes that Sponsor may ask a winner to confirm eligibility before awarding a prize.
